Stained Glass
Working with glass was a love and skill passed down and taught to me by my Mama, but the craft has since come to take on it's own unique personal meaning to me and my self-expression and confidence. I like to use recycled glass pieces, jewelry, stones, and anything else I can find to make more unique patchwork-type pieces, but I also like to make traditional patterns for sun-catchers, panels, boxes, jars, and other pieces. Despite all the frilly talk, it is a craft that I am absolutely very much still learning, but one I passionately enjoy nonetheless.

Alcohol Ink Botanical Stains
These flora impressions were made using botanicals foraged from around my house (grasses, leaves, flowers, etc.), and a homemade alcohol ink made of food coloring and isopropyl alcohol, pen, and sometimes salt. I arranged and pressed the flora to the paper and painted over them with the food coloring/alcohol mixture to bring out the natural veins and outlines of the plants. Some worked better than others, I'm still honing the technique!

Metal
Metalworking and blacksmithing was the discipline my Dad passed down to me, and, much like glass, it is a skill that has come to take on it's own unique meaning to me and is something I really enjoy, but is also something I'm definitely still learning. I love to make wands, jewelry, and other kinds of metal-workings. All pieces were created at my dad's shop with many of them being made by a combination of us both!
Technically not metal itself, but rather a picture of me selling some metal wares at a Ren Faire in 2016. Although you do get a glimpse of the sign me and dad made.
More coming soon! ♡

Stained Glass Information & Care
Cleaning:
Please refrain from using any acid or chemical cleaners, and instead just simply use some water and a mild dish soap or easy dusting if you need to clean any glass piece. Just make sure to dry it off right after washing if it does get wet! From time to time the solder or lead may also naturally oxidize and leave a whitish substance on the piece, but you can just gently wipe with this off with a q-tip or a non-abrasive brush.
Safety:
My stained glass pieces unless stated otherwise are put together with solder or came that contains lead, and even though it poses no harm minimally touching it or hanging in your home, it's good practice to always wash your hands with soap and water after handling any stained glass piece to prevent any unwanted exposure.
Hanging:
For suncatchers and other hanging pieces, make sure to hang it as securely as you can, whether from a sturdy hook that has been screwed into something secure like a wall or ceiling stud, or hang it from something like a properly attached curtain rod if you can. You could use suction cups for very small pieces, but honestly I wouldn't recommend them; they often just can't handle the weight and are prone to popping off, they're just not something I would risk hanging something so fragile on if you can help it.
